Lots to Celebrate

Wow! Again, what another BUSY week! WARNING- this one is LONG!! So, here we go!

F is for Family.
Family means more to me than anything in this world. That's all there is to it. My family comes first. Always. I am so thankful, so blessed, so in love with the family that I have.
When things get bad the only thing I can do is PRAY. Yes, I can complain and cry and whatever else BUT, the only thing that truly helps is to talk to the Lord about the problem. The power of prayer is by far the strongest 'solution' to any problem. I might not see the results THAT DAY, but I know the Lord hears me. I know it could take days, even years for an answer. But I do know He hears me.
Happy Birthday to my little brothers Jake & Josh who turned 8 last week!! My goodness, how time flies.
23- Yes, I turned 23 this past weekend. What do you do on your 23rd birthday while 8 1/2 months pregnant?? Well, a pedicure to help with swollen feet, delicious pizza from Just 1 More (delivered) with the best parents in the world and vacuuming out my dirty car is what you do!! And I was fortunate enough to get a phone call from Josh.
Sunday my wonderful mother put on a baby shower for Corbin. It was perfect (besides the fact that Nolan was not there). She went above and beyond; the cake, the decorations, the gifts, EVERYTHING was PERFECT and I couldn't have been more thankful. Nothing is better than having a room full of the most amazing women celebrating Corbin. Thank you, Mom. I love you more than you'll ever know.
Also, thank you to the hosts; Alyssa, Robbie, Rayna, and Sam!!
AND, one last thing, a big CONGRATS to my little sister, Alyssa, for passing her exam and officially becoming a Cosmotologist!! Her first day at Hair Mechanix was today and me being the AWESOME sister I am was one of her clients!!

A is for Army.
Well..... I just received word from Josh today that since he got the M6 identifier (this means he is known as a combat medic [68W] AND an LPN), Fort Campbell, KY is no longer our duty station.. But, we won't know our new assigned duty station until----well, I don't know that either. Ahh, as if my nerves aren't shot enough.
Last post I mentioned how Josh no longer had hometown recruiting, which was a huge BUMMER. Well theeeeen, what do you know? He gets his official orders and he has it again!? Will I get too excited this time? No. But we will see.
Monday, Josh left for Camp Bullis for 10 days. This is the last of his training before graduating from AIT. The day before he left he told me there was a "surprise" on a website for Corbin and I which I could get Thursday. So of course, Wednesday night at 10 pm I'm already checking for it. Halfway through Thursday we got our 'surprise'. SWEETEST.SURPRISE.EVER. Josh recorded a happy early birthday/I miss you/I love you/see you in 18 days message before he left  (that I have literally watched 30 times).
There is supposed to be no communication, but Josh was aloud to call and check up on Corbin and I after the prenatal appointment on Friday and for my BIRTHDAY (23!!) on Saturday. So, needless to say, I was one happy Mama! BUT, it only gets better.
Josh graduates from AIT October 28 -- So I  booked 3 tickets to San Antonio for myself, Tommy and Alyssa. Lets just say we were SUPER excited about this trip. And BAM!!! Another curve ball. Because of some issues back here at home, Josh will be coming home 2 days early!! I am sooooo excited to have him home for awhile. We have missed him so much.

L is for Love.
"If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it."
I truly believe this with all of my heart. I find myself reminding others of this, but not myself as much as I should.
This is me reminding you and me. <3

L is for Learning.
Money Management. Budgeting.
That's what I'm learning. Seriously, I NEVER thought trying to find a home (when I was looking in KY) would be so hard on such a SMALL budget. There are definitely sacrifices you HAVE to make and that you are WILLING to make to get by. My husband works very hard for Corbin and I while I finish this pregnancy and my schooling. I am greatful for that every single day. I am not the most financially knowledgable person in the world, but I am learning a lot!

Baby Update: Today I am 34 weeks! Just 6 left to go. (I cannot believe how fast this has gone by!) I have had no problems, besides my beautiful, swollen feet, which the doctor is NOT concerned about. So, all is good with us! Corbin is active throughout the day and keeps me happy as can be! We will see the doctor again on Halloween! We are actually pretty excited about that appointment, it will be Josh's first one!

I do believe this sums up the crazy/busy past week! Below are some pictures I wanted to share with all you that do follow!

  1. I cannot believe you only have 6 weeks to go! Yippee! You already know it will go fast. The Army is giving you a good test of what it's really like right now. Wait wait wait! I get tired of it sometimes but you learn to just get patient b/c you have no other choice. And (if I may jump on my soapbox), when you guys get to your first duty station I recommend Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. It's a bible based teaching on everything money. Chance and I took it before we were married bc my parent's taught it at our church (and I was forced lol) and I will say it has been a key part of our marriage. We don't fight about money because we budget every two weeks when we get a paycheck and every dollar has a place. Ok. Stepping down now. I always right so much. Maybe you guys should get stationed at Bragg so we can just talk in person :) Miss and love you!

  3. Haha. Ash I saw the 'right' and I knew that was going to drive you crazy!!
I would have loved to have taken the Ramsey class!! My mom did buy the book recently when we went to the Christian book store. It's just a big book to read cover to cover. I'd like to 'sit in' on one of yours and Chance's budget nights, just to learn. Unfortunately, arguing over money happens often with us (my fault 100% though, because I worry and stress).
I'm beginning to think Bragg has Zaremba written all over it- just so we can be with you guys! My mom would DIE! (Don't think I wouldn't either being so far from home.)
Ok, now I wrote a lot! Love you, miss you!!
